According to the Audubon Society, these birds have a diet mostly of insects and berries. We left some grapes outside, so maybe that’s why this one came for a visit.This mockingbird seems frozen between frantic dashes. When in motion, it is difficult to track, but then it will just sit there and stare intensely.This juvenile Northern Mockingbird is practicing its wing flash. According to the Audubon Society, “The white patches on a Northern Mockingbird’s wings and outer tail feathers serve dual purposes: The birds often show off these plumes during mating rituals, and they also flash them when defending their territory from potential predators like hawks and snakes.”A bluebird sits in the rain, fluffed for comfort, and brightening the day.
